Monument "Kaiserin Augusta" in Koblenz

The German empress "Kaiserin-Augusta" from "Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach" engaged the prussian horticulturists "Peter-Joseph Lenné" and "Hermann Fürst von Pückler-Muskau" to arrange and design the left rhine riverbank in Koblenz. Many art monuments edged the 3,5 kilomerters long promenade, but most of them were destroyed in World War II...

This carrara-marmor-statue was raised and inaugurated at the Luisenplatz in 1896. It is surrounded by a pergola and two small fountains. The monument has the following inscription on its back:
"Der unvergeßlichen Kaiserin Augusta
Die dankbare Bürgerschaft der Residenzstadt Coblenz
Errichtet 1895-1896"
